Oct. 30, 2012 - Puerto Rico
A 6-year-old boy was abducted when his father and he were confronted by four armed men wearing black ski masks. The men took the child and fled. Later the child was dropped off at a shopping center where a guard recognized the child from the AMBER Alert broadcast. The guard contacted law enforcement, and the child was safely rescued.
Oct. 24, 2012 - Missouri
A 5-year-old girl was abducted from her yard by a registered sex offender. The child's mother noticed the child missing and saw the offender driving away. The abductor became aware of the AMBER Alert and contacted law enforcement to turn himself in and surrender the child. The child was safely rescued.
Oct. 16, 2012 - Georgia
A 2-year-old girl was left in a car by her caregiver. When the caregiver returned she found the vehicle had been stolen with the child inside, and an AMBER Alert was issued. An individual later saw the vehicle in a parking lot and recognized it from the AMBER Alert and discovered the child was alone inside. Law enforcement was notified, and the child was safely rescued.
Oct. 11, 2012 - Ohio
A 3-year-old child was left sleeping in his father's car while his father went inside a house to pick up another child. When the father came back outside a few minutes later he saw someone driving away in the vehicle with the child inside. An off duty police officer who heard the AMBER Alert located the car resulting in the safe rescue of the child.
Aug. 9, 2012 - California
A 17-year-old girl and her 2-month-old daughter were abducted at gunpoint by the infant's father. Later the 17-year-old saw the AMBER Alert and was able to notify law enforcement of her location. Both the teen mother and her daughter were safely recovered.
June 22, 2012 - Texas
A 6-year-old boy was abducted by his noncustodial mother when she and several masked associates stormed the home of the child's grandmother. Law enforcement issued an AMBER Alert. They subsequently received a tip indicating someone had recognized the child at a hotel swimming pool resulting in the safe recovery of the child.
June 19, 2012 - Illinois
An AMBER Alert was issued for a 1-year-old child abducted by her noncustodial father. The abductor heard the AMBER Alert on the news. He turned himself in and gave the child to law enforcement.
June 1, 2012 - Kansas
An adult male traveled from Canada to Kansas in an effort to pick up a 12-year-old girl he met online. Subsequent investigation led law enforcement to believe the abductor and child were traveling to Canada through Michigan. The state of Michigan activated an AMBER Alert for the child. The abductor's vehicle was spotted, and the child was safely rescued by law enforcement.
May 19, 2012 - Wyoming
A 2-year-old girl and vehicle were reported missing at nearly the same time. Law enforcement determined the incidents were related and activated an AMBER Alert. A resident heard the AMBER Alert and contacted law enforcement when she saw the vehicle. The child was found inside the vehicle and rescued.
March 27, 2012 - Ohio
A 4-year-old boy was taken by a 19-year-old man staying with the child's family, and law enforcement activated an AMBER Alert. Law enforcement received a tip in response to the alert
March 9, 2012 - California
Two girls, ages 3 and 5, were abducted by their mother's ex-boyfriend. Law enforcement activated an AMBER Alert. A resident heard the alert and spotted the abductor's vehicle on the highway. Law enforcement rescued both children.
March 1, 2012 - Ohio
A 9-year-old child was abducted by her noncustodial mother. Law enforcement activated an AMBER Alert and received a tip from someone who recognized the vehicle from the AMBER Alert. The abductor and child were later located in a parking lot where the child was rescued.
February 26, 2012 - Colorado
A 9-month-old girl was abducted by a male relative. Law enforcement activated an AMBER Alert. An officer saw the alert and spotted the suspect's vehicle rescuing the child.
Feb. 22, 2012 - Georgia
A woman was traveling with her two sons, ages 1 and 3, when her car broke down. Someone she did not know stopped to help, and she left the children with him while she sought assistance. When she returned with a tow truck the children and abductor were not there. Law enforcement activated an AMBER Alert. A woman who knew the abductor later brought the children to law enforcement.
Feb. 22, 2012 - Tennessee
Two girls, ages 3 and 4, were abducted by their noncustodial parents. The children's father took them from their grandparent's home leaving a note saying they were going to Florida. Law enforcement activated an AMBER Alert. Later law enforcement in Maryland recognized the vehicle from the alert and conducted a traffic stop. Both abductors were arrested, and the children were recovered.
Feb. 17, 2012 - Illinois
An 8-year-old child was reported missing when he and his mother's boyfriend went to the store and did not return home. Law enforcement activated an AMBER Alert. A resident saw the alert on an expressway sign and subsequently spotted the vehicle. The child was safely rescued as a result.
Feb. 16, 2012 - Iowa
A 3-year-old boy was abducted from a fast food restaurant by his mother's girlfriend. The girlfriend took the child to his noncustodial mother. Law enforcement activated an AMBER Alert. The girlfriend sought treatment at a local hospital for a medical condition. She was recognized from the alert by hospital staff. They contacted law enforcement, and the girlfriend provided the location of the child. The child was safely rescued.
